Music maestro A R Rahman won the ‘Golden Globe Award’ for Best Original Score in ‘Slumdog Millionaire’, at “The 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards” at Beverley Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, on Sunday, January 11, 2009. He created history by becoming the first Indian to have won the prestigious award. Rahman gave extra-ordinary musical scores like ‘Ringa Ringa’ and ‘Jai Ho’ to the film and got International recognition. He worked all through the night for composing these magical notes. ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ brought him lot of fans across the globe.
‘Slumdog Millionaire’ was directed by a British, Danny Boyle and written by Simon Beaufoy. It is a story of an Indian slumboy who appears in a game show and exceeds the audience’s expectations. Danny Boyle designed for the audience of western countries. The film won four Golden Globes – Best Original Score for A R Rahman, Best Screenplay for Simon Beaufoy, Best Director for Danny Boyle and Best Picture Motion. Shahrukh Khan and Karan Johar graced the ceremony to present the awards.
