A shame, Danny Boyle makes the authorities work

There seems to be pressure mounting on Danny Boyle to part with whatever money he set aside for the welfare of Mohammed Azaruddin, who played a memorable role in Slumdog Millionaire.

Now, the local municipality has joined the hands of his father indirectly. The authorities could just wake up and notice that their positions are at stake if they do not act. They therefore realized the fundamental reason for the basic existence of the slums.

These irresponsible people prove to be the main reason for existence of such illegal structures without basic amenities and abundance of filth in which thousands of poor and downtrodden take shelter due to lack of enforcement of laws. These come up by feeding the bribe hungry officials or by being the factory of criminal activities to satisfy the needs of rich and powerful particularly politicians or as a cheap abode of unemployed youth coming to the cities in search of dreamland or what else? The list can be long as the problem is not the lack of rules and regulations, but in implementing them. There are rules and Govt Orders issued time and again defining and redefining the actions but where do they go? Yes, they help to fill in the coffers of beaurocrates and politicians leaving the gullible poor ones to fend for themselves on the roads and under the tarpaulins just like our Azar’s family lives.

So, as the authorities saw the news, they have now sprung into action to clear the place free from these encroachments. Thus, Azaruddin will not have is shelter a few days from now.

It is a pathetic situation prevailing in Republic of India which is purely a making of the greedy politicians and heartless goons. If India can boast of winning wars, let them show their capability within the country winning the war against poverty and greed.
