We are aware of the social status of the children who played important roles in Danny Boyle’s Slumdog Millionaire.
This poor status has been having a tool on these children and their parents particularly after the stupendous success of the movie. A British tabloid even carried out a sting operation to expose the desperation of Rubina’s parents thus making a proper story at the cost of trauma of the child and guilty feeling of her father.
To put an end to such woes, the Jai Ho trust, formed by Slumdog Millionaire’s filmmakers, has hired a social worker.
Now, instead of a lawyer, the children and their parents can summon the help of this social worker whenever they are approached by any one.
Thus, the social worker’s main duty will be to look after the children, Rubina Ali and Azaruddin Mohammed Ismail and ensure that their rights and best interests are protected using the money that has been set aside by the filmmakers.
