Bollywood is exhibiting a peculiar way when it comes to remuneration. Recently a male actor almost doubled his wages and hence had to leave the project. Fortunately the project did not get affected as the loss to the producers was less.
But as Dayal, the director of Circus puts it, the politeness of Mumbai artists vanish the moment they get to know their worth in the film. He recently had to bend beyond his limits just for a few thousands, that too to a new entrant.
Archana Gupta, the young artist who acted in Circus in lead role, seems to have learnt this nuance of trade better.
While the heroines are charging crores, she was not content with just Rs 2.5L she charged for her role and the director claims that there were constant pasturing for additional amount.
She really hit the bull’s eye when she learnt that the shooting could not get completed as per schedule and kept a demand of Rs 25000/- per day for the additional days. Dayal did not give in and negotiated the figures to an additional Rs 50000/- and there again he seems to have paid Rs 35000/- which she denies.
Well, the newspapers spending time on just thousands as remuneration or balance looks like we are back in Dilip Kumar days.
