Salman, Deepa’s favourite

The story of a child who was born on the midnight of 15th of Aug 1947 was captured by Salman Rushdie in a character he created as Saleem Sinai. He follows through from the birth on independence day till the end of emergency in 1977.

Deepa Mehta presents Videsh in original form

Deepa Mehta is a different director among the fraternity which fights for U certificate of their films. She decided to accept A certificate for her film “Videsh” instead of deleting some scenes as recommended by the censor board.
