Danny Boyle’s Gesture to Slum Children

Plan India is a voluntary organization that was founded in 1937 after Spanish civil war and currently works in 68 countries. Based in Delhi, this serves as a child-centred development organization that aims to promote child rights and improve the quality of life of vulnerable children.

Earlier there was a news about Anil Kapoor donating part of his income for Slumdog Millionaire for this charity organization.

Now, he has succeeded in convincing Danny Boyle and the management of Slumdog Millionaire to donate a whopping $747000/- to this organization.

This gesture of Danny Boyle is mainly aiming at educating about 5000 slum children.

Danny Boyle has been doing his best to create a proper environment for the two slum children who played important roles in the movie. Fearing the lose of direction of the money, he created a trust called Jai Ho trust and entrusted the assignment of taking care of the children’s future.

The gesture of Danny Boyle in plowing back a part of profit earned through the movie Slumdog Millionaire comes as an answer to many critics that the film unit has neglected the very source through which they made not less than USD 200mil.
