There is news that Rubina Ali Qureshi, the child actor of Oscar winning Slumdog Millionaire is under a kind of torture by her parents.
Her parents, who claim to have got nothing from the movie makers for her role in Slumdog Millionaire, are now hitting the news for their inclination to sell the child for a considerable sum.
The neighbours who were not happy with her father’s such intentions tipped off a tabloid which apparently conducted a sting operation. The process concluded with her father fixing the price of the girl as 200,000/- pounds. His deal was with fictitious agents of an Arab Sheik.
Well! Danny Boyle’s approach of depositing the money in a trust and supporting the family in such a way that the money does not get blown off in seconds is something the family is unable to tolerate.
