Grammy Fever, Four Indian Music Albums in the Fray

“Calcutta Chronicles: Indian slide Guitar Odyssey”, “Dancing in the Light” “Floating Point” and “Miles from India” are the music albums by able Indian musicians which are on their path to Grammy awards.

Under the category “best Contemporary Jazz Album”, Louis Banks’s works “Floating Point” with guitarist John Mclaughlin and “Miles from India” in dedication to the founder of modern Jazz Miles Davis have been considered.

Under “Best Traditional World Music Album” the album Kolkatta based musician Debashish Battacharya’s “Calcutta Chronicles: Indian Slide Guitar Odyssey” and “Dancing in the Light” by Vocalist Lakshmi Shankar have been nominated.

With Indian legacy already in the high, there may not be any serious doubts that these also will surely make it big in the event on Sunday at Los Angeles.
