Indian film, Lahore, gets the prestigious Jury Award for the best feature film

April 20, 2009 saw one more history being made.

Puran Singh Chauhan became a director for the first time in his life through a movie titled Lahore.

This film won the most prestigious Jury Award for the Best Feature Film at the 42nd Worldfest International Film Festival, Houston.

This awards assumes such a significance in one’s life since it was the award that kick-started the careers of the greats like David Lynch, Steven Spielberg, Ridfley Scots, Robert Rodriguez and many more.

Produced by Vivek Khatkar, this movie dwells on two sports lovers from undivided India. One was an aspirant in Kick-Boxing and the other a Cricketer. Their emotional attachment to the sports, family values as well as their country are depicted with a high level of precision in the movie which had for cast Nirmal Pandey, Ashish Vidyarthi, Nafisa Ali, Sabyasachi Chakraborthy and a newcomer Aanahad.
