Nagesh Kukunoor’s IQBAL was a movie that had the luxury of Naseeruddin Shah’s brilliant acting along side the debutant Shreyas Talpade.
This movie that was well received by a section of people did have an unsung hero. It is none other than the script writer, Vipul K Rawal. The call centre employee, who wrote stories in leisure hours, was rather surprised to see the story taking centre stage inspite of the presence of bigwigs like Naseer.
So, he turned smart. Now, the buzz is that his next flick has been picked by someone @ Rs 2 Crores. On questioning by the curious few, the answer from Vipul was that he could be creative only on being financially stable.
I have seen Vipul Rawal’s work in IQBAL and I was highly impressed by the simple story. I was also depressed about the plagarasim charges that were leveled on Nagesh and his pathetic excuses which were later exposed when he had to settle out of court and pay a heavy penalty.
