Karan Johar has brought a suit as fond memory of his work at Philadelphia. Yes, a lawsuit.
Karan’s Dharma Productions was in Philadelphia shooting an untitled film by Rensil D’Silva. The local activities in Philadelphia were subcontracted to Swish Films, Australia.
As per arrangements, Dharma Productions appears to have paid Swish, the money towards the wages for local workers and contractors. But apparently, the money did not reach its destination. The local papers say that Swish distributed cheques with a request to present it at a later date and obviously many bounced.
The result is that the local workers have filed a case against Dharma Productions claiming the wages of USD half a mil.
Dharma Production is fuming on this and intends to settle the money directly and then take on Swish. Obviously by this time Dharma;s global presence must have taught enough ways to handle such situations.
Does this law suit play a vital role Dharma Productions becoming Karma Productions to facilitate trouble free shooting in the US?
