When Lalu can become a subject of study to IIM students, why not Satyajit Ray be for the Secondary students. Yes, now, if your kids are watching a movie on TV, you better permit them.

NCERT, The National Council of Education Research and Training, the body that revises the syllabus for Central Board for Secondary Education, has come out with a lively idea to make the learning more enjoyable.

Now, the management team has included as reference material some eight movies. If one wants to learn about Politics of Planned development, then the reference is Pather Panchali of Satyajit Ray. Similarly, for challenges of restoration of the Congress system, Zanjeer, the 1973’s blockbuster comes as an example.

Not, just Bollywood movies, but even the regional movies find place with liberal references, showing that the authorities have understood the pulse of the students. The attempt, as we learn, is that the method is seen as a way to create a platform to navigate a bit different from being bookworms to a practical student growing with awareness on what is happening in the society.

This is a tremendous success to those who have brought out such masterpieces that they can become examples for society and find permanent place in text books.
