Mallika Sherawat seems to be not having a good beginning of 2009. She was to do “Forbidden” a thriller with liberal display of her core professional skills. She was to play a seductress, seducing a 20 year old boy. It appears that she was so choosy in having this boy’s role played by someone not known in the circles and hence Tusshar Kapoor had to pass on the role to some unknown Aditya Seal. Though she was successful in getting who she wanted to romance with, the success in actually romancing someone nearer to half her age for real could not happen as the director and producer are not seeing each other due to differences.

The producer Ratan Jain was not happy with the director Manish Gupta’s accepting another offer to direct Stoneman Murders which he wanted to produce, but unfortunately, Bobby Bedi has initiated that. So, when given an option to choose between Forbidden and Stoneman Murders, Manish Gupta had to opt for the latter, since that project had already taken off. So Mallika Sherawat has to wait for an undefined period now, while this is the case with Forbidden, she’s also forbidden from making a head way with Kundan Shah directing, Himesh Reshammiya starring “Masquerade”.

Initially it was between Mallika and Studio 18 to do a movie for a certain figure which was stated to be somewhat lesser than her market value due to the impressive story. But, as the days passed by and after two failures, she probably had gone for a figure two times that of her present figure she commands. Surprised by this firm move by this lady, Studio 18 has now knocked the doors of Indian Motion Pictures Producer’s Association to get the initial signing amount back from Mallika which is around 25 lakhs. Naturally, she’s out of this movie.

Poor Mallika…
