Former Miss World Aishwarya Rai received her first Padma award from the President Smt Pratibha Patil. The other Bollywood actor to receive the Padma award was daredevil Akshay Kumar. Both these stars who hail from a non-film background family were conferred the Government of India’s highest awards on Tuesday at Ashoka Hall, Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Flanked by husband Abhishek Bachchan, father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan and her parents, Aishwarya Rai faced the proud moment in her life. And it was Twinkle Khanna who cheered Akshay.
