Youth Icon Shahid turns 28

Shahid Kapoor was born on 25th Feb, 1981, in Mumbai to Bollywood couple Pankaj Kapoor and Neelima Azeem. So, this Jab We Met actor turns 28 tomorrow, the 25th Feb and there seems to be a great celebration planned by him and his friends. Now that he has no serious compulsions in the form of a girl friend, he is now all by himself and is scheduled to take a flight all the way to Mumbai from Jodhpur to be with his father and other family members.

It is time to give some news about his life. He was son of Neelima Azeem who separated herself formally from Pankaj Kapoor. After the divorce, she was too happy to bring up Shahid. His father went on to marry Supriya Pathak and the couple has Sana and Ishaan. Shahid stayed in Mumbai and did schooling from Rajhans Vidyalaya, Andheri.

Shahid got trained from Shiamak Davar Institute for the Performing Arts and started his acting career with a role in “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai” in 1998 followed by Subash Ghai’s “Taal” in 1999. But his real lead act was seen in Ken Gosh’s “Ishq Vishk” opposite Amrita Rao that fetched him the best debutant award and a notable place in Bollywood. The real entry into prominence was achieved by his performance in “36 China Town” and later the “Chup Chup Ke” followed by Imtiaz Ali’s “Jab We Met”. But since then he was mostly written for his failed romance with Kareena Kapoor than any notable hits.

Now, busy with “Kaminey” and renewing a stalled movie “Milenge Milenge” Shahid Kapoor must prove himself in 2009, if at all he desires to stand on top in this competitive world.

Bollywood Frames wishes this youth Icon a very memorable year ahead.
