Shatrughan Sinha’s North Indian controversy

We are aware Shatrughan Sinha and Shekhar Suman are fighting a battle in Bihar under different tickets. It was Shekhar Suman who created a controversy in his usual style. He said that Sinha was cooling his heels when North Indians were attacked in Maharashtra.

Sinha’s wife came to his rescue and said that Sinha made a special visit to Sena chief requesting his intervention to stop MNS’s atrocities.

Later, Sinha joined the bandwagon and addressed Bal Thackeray as father figure and God. This infuriated the Biharis and he was subjected to severe ridiculing by his rivals.

To save the situation from disaster, Sinha clarified as “I addressed Bal Thackeray as father figure out of respect and the culture in which I was brought up. Not only him, I shall even call any elderly person, even the CPM leader Jyoti Basu as farther figure. The truth is that I went to meet Bal Thackeray to request his intervention to put an end to the atrocities on fellow North Indians in Mumbai.”

He however denied calling Bal Thackeray a God and refuted saying “How a living person can be called God?”

He went on to question his rivals about their contribution in such situations and was specific in asking that of Shekhar Suman’s. He cited the good deeds he carried out though the MPLAD fund he organized.

Well! this election has rekindled the memories of the pains the North Indians faced in Maharashtra.

Well! Having re-kindled the North Indian issues, it is better for Shekhar Suman and Shot Gun, before returning to their homes in Mumbai, to take some ideas from Amitabh Bachchan who successfully handled certain controversies in recent times.
