Slumdog and Jai Ho find entry in Global Language Monitor

The Global Language Monitor is a Texas based company that collectively documents, analyses and tracks the trends in language usage worldwide with a particular emphasis upon the English Language.

Its 6th Annual Survey for 2008 now states that the words “Jai Ho” and “Slumdog” are the top words in the 2008 list of words from Hollywood that most influenced the English Language in 2008. This was closely followed by “Hmong” from Gran Tornio, “Nuke the Fridge” from Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull and “Twinkle Defense” following the events depicted in “Milk”

It has been mentioned as that the two words from the same movie finding place in this survey is the first ever time.
