The near and dear ones say the reason for his disappearance is the harassment of that of a corporator of the locality where Mohammed Azaruddin (Salim in Slumdog) was living. This corporator, Nicholas Almeida, was earlier in the news for protesting against the use of the word Slumdog. Now, he is being questioned for his alleged involvement in harassing the boy and his family demanding a cut from the returns of Salim due to his acting in Slumdog Millionaire.
