Slumdog Millionaire sweeps 8 awards, AR Rahman gets 2 Oscars thumbnail

While the entire world was watching today, the February 23rd, the
81st Academy Award Ceremony of Oscars, it was a proud moment for the cast and crew of ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ to walk the red carpet and sweep 8 out of 10 nominees.

While A .R Rahman won two of his three nominated oscars – 1) Best Background Music; 2) Best Original Score for Jai Ho, Resul Pookutty won the Oscar for Sound Mixing in “Slumdog Millionaire”.

The other Oscar award winners for ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ are Danny
Boyle – Best Director; Simon Beaufoy – Best Screenplay; Anthony Dod
Mantle – Best Cinematographer; Chris Dickens – Best Film Editing and the Best Film award.

Somewhere in a corner there was a silent contribution by winning an Oscar for Indian oriented documentary “Smile Pinki”, which was filmed in the villages of Uttar Pradesh on the basis of child welfare.

Hearty congradulations to A R Rahman, Resul Pookutty and the team of Slumdog Millionaire.
