Yes, this movie was released in South Africa last week end and as usual, it hit instant success and became the first film to rake in a huge collection in the opening week itself.
This movie was released in 20 theaters in South Africa and the collections when counted in the weekend grossed to 1.4Mil Rands at an amazing average of 70,000/- rands per print. By these figures this movie overtook the 2004 release of Kay Pollak’s film “As it is in Heaven” which has run for more than 103 weeks in an Australian theatre.
The theatre owners in South Africa attribute this success to the large Indian Diaspora which shows keen interest in Bollywood films. The most successful Bollywood film of all time is Jodha Akbar which reportedly earned about 290,000/- rands on its opening week.
