Sudhir Mishra, whose ‘Aur Devdas’ got inspiration from the classic Devdas, has now changed his mind to shelve the project. The reason, he watched Anurag Kashyap’s recently released ‘Dev-D’ and thought that it would be senseless to make a film on the same subject which was so brilliantly taken by Anurag.

According to Sudhir Mishra, his Chitrangada, Shiney and Lara starrer ‘Aur Devdas’ is a film on political backdrop with classic touch. But since Anurag’s ‘Dev-D’ starring Abhay Deol, which was also claimed to be a modern version of the classic, got released much before ‘Aur Devdas’, Mishra decided not to proceed with his project anymore. Instead he is planning yet another film titled ‘Hitman’ which will have Chitrangada and Shiney in lead roles.

Pritish Nandy Communications, which was also the producer of ‘Aur Devdas’ will now produce ‘Hitman’. “The film is the journey of a hitman on the run”, conveyed Mishra.
