It is now the turn of Anil Kapoor who already hit the headlines for his signing a drama 24, the famous TV serial in the US.

Well! What brings him again now? It is the honour which he fetched not only for him, but also for his country.

He has been asked to throw a ceremonial first pitch at a Los Angeles Dodgers. The honour is of significance going by the past counts when people like Victoria Beckham and Nicolette Sheridan were selected for throwing the first pitch at the National Football League match.

This also shows the immense popularity he commands among the American public.

Salman Khan is doing a film “Wanted- Dead and Alive” produced by Boney Kapoor and directed by Prabhu Deva in which Ayesha Takia is doing the female lead.

Meanwhile, we are all aware of a kind of trade mark dance steps Anil Kapoor executes in the block buster Ram Lakhan. He repeated the same in many places and the dance step is a famous one in Bollywood

Now, attracted by the step called tapori, Salman wanted to do the same in his film “Wanted- Dead and alive”. But, Rajeev Surti, the choreographer and Prabhu Deva, the director who is also is a good choreographer, had other ideas. They thought that if Anil joins the steps with Salman, it would boost the attraction.

What convinced Anil is not clear, Whether it was his brother’s project or as a goodwill gesture to Salman is not the matter now, but what matters is that Anil’s instant ok for the shoot of the particular scene.

This movie made box offices rock in Tamil as well as Telugu titled “Pokiri” in both the versions. We need to see how the gimmicks work in Hindi.

So, on 26th of April, the closing night of the festival, Anil Kapoor and Kiran Bedi will attend as special Guests of Honor.

As a gesture of respect to Anil Kapoor, the festival will specially screen films from his repository like Lahme (1991), Virasat (1997) and My Father (2007), the one produced by him in respect to father of nation.

Anil Kapoor was so emotional and excited on hearing this and conveyed to the press about a rare coincidence. He conveyed that it was at the Arc Light Theatre, about five months back, that he attended the first AFI Fest Premiere of Slumdog Millionaire and he felt immensely pleased to attend a felicitation event at the same venue due to stupendous success of the movie. He was feeling like having come a full circle and is eagerly waiting for the due date.

This movie aptly titled “Ayesha” will also feature Abhay Deol. The story of this movie goes like this. The rich lady is a centre of attraction of three males, Abhay Deol, Arunodoy Singh and VJ Cyrus. While, Abhay secretly admires and loves the heroine, Arunodoy plays a friend who get her sympathy. While the plight of these two go on, there is entry of another character in VJ Curus, who comes with an agenda to marry the heroine Ayesha.

So, as the story looks, the things seem like the plight of present day’s ladies in the world and the outcome as well as side effects. Let us hope this exercise to be a success for this charming lady.

Yes, if the buzz in the industry is to be believed, the Slumdog Millionaire’s host, Anil Kapoor, is expected to now try his hand in the real programme. He seems to be in talks with the TV channel which earlier thought of appointing Salman Khan.

It is the Sony Televisions that has now bagged the rights for the show and is aiming at capitalizing the Slumdog fever.

There is another story that Salman Khan, who did not fare well in “Dus Ka Dum” was fully paid inspite of short-relay of the show. So, there was a kind of indirect commitment between the host and the TV and they were to work together for KBC 3. With the Slumdog hitting new heights, the TV is aiming at cashing in on the popularity of the actor, Anil Kapoor.
