“Slumdog Millionaire” bagged more number of awards in music. But the man behind the song “Jai Ho” that fetched A.R.Rahman, the most coveted award, unfortunately could not make it to the Oscars.

While blaming the incidence entirely on his hurt shoulders and probably wanting to keep away the mix up in documents, this matured lyricist, Gulzar, conveyed that he was so happy for Rahman. He said as an emotional long time friend of Arhman, it was Rahman’s winning the award that was more than anything for him.

He further added that while the Grammy Award winners like Pandit Ravi Shankar and L Subramanian took the classical songs to greater heights, it was A.R.Rahman who made the light music reach much greater heights.

He said that his words in written form were given magical touch by Sukhwinder Singh which was further glorified by Rahman. So, he conveyed his sincere gratitude to Sukhwinder for his powerful voice.
