The production house that was opened in 1970 by Yash Chopra has been a successful one all along and was instrumental in setting some standards in the film industry. In 2004, it was awarded 27th position as the Biggest Film Distribution House in the world by a survey by Hollywood Reporters. It has made many best products during its journey to where it is now, the recent one being Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.

Now, they have reached a stage wherein they are unable to pay 20 employees and hence had advised them to leave.

Now a days, some companies even if they are doing good, try to take advantage of the global recession to settle scores with such people who they want to do away with in direct terms.

It is unfortunate that the movie industry which does not talk anything less than 100s of crores retrenches the poor team citing recession.

After the super success of ‘Ghajini’, now the Bollywood producers are eying on every other film from South that’s giving good commercial success. Many producers including Madhu Mantena have lined up to grab the remake rights of the period film ‘Arundhati’.

Now the sources claim that Yashraj films have almost reached the edge to close the deal with the producer Shyam Prasad Reddy for a handsome amount. And if this is true, ‘Arundhati’ in Hindi would be either Kajol or Rani Mukherjee. This apart, Amitabh Bachchan is being approached to play a vital role in this period film.
