Out of 65 entries, one each from each country, the Selection Committee of Oscars released a list of nine movies from which they will finalise five that will go to the finals. The list does not contain our Tare Zameen Par.

So, it is unfortunate that the movie Tare Zameen Par which was Aamir Khan’s dream project as debutant director that ran grand many weeks in India.

His Lagaan luck could not continue.

Now the films making it to penultimate round as per the Oscar’s press statement are: This Heart Out (Mexico), The Necessities Of Life (Canada), The Revanche (Austria), 3 Monkeys (Turkey), Waltz With Bashir (Israel), Everlasting Moments (Sweden) and The Class (France)

We will come to know of the final five nominees on January 22nd.
