The efforts by Vishal Dadlani seem to be paying off. He has now gathered enough signatures in the petition to Mumbai High Court on the rights of electronic media during National emergency.
Perturbed by the way the electronic media fought one over the other in projecting what was happening during the 26/11 Taj siege in Mumbai, Vishal Dadlani initiated a kind of PIL seeking the Govt to devise the limits for such act. His contention as all of us also know is that the media’s such act gave indirect facilities for the terrorist organizations to caution the terrorists in operation.
Now, it is expected that the TV Channels would be summoned for questioning on their act and in the process a code of conduct will be devised.
